CECILIE BAHNSEN SS19

CIM MAHONY:

What was the inspiration for the Cecilie Bahnsen look?
The inspiration for Cecilie Bahnsen SS19 was Japanese boarding school girls. With the hair we continued the red thread from past seasons, doing a strict center parting from the front and then adding intricate braid details in the back.  We used a method of winding string that takes it’s inspiration from ancient Japanese roping techniques.

Which products have you used to create the look?
We have used Proteinspray from the organic hair brand Less is More to prep the hair. By doing this, we can keep a conditioned natural texture as close to “virgin hair” as possible. Finishing the look with Thyme Lacque, also from Less is More, to give the style a light hold.

STINE GOYA SS19

CIM MAHONY:

What was the inspiration for the Stine Goya look?
For the inspiration at Stine Goya this season, we traveled back to the early 70s Saint Tropez. In the late 60s and early 70s, hair took a turn from being set in stone to being more loose and sexy, and the latter was what we were going for! Think blow dry that has been worn day and night for quite a few days running, Sexy and loosely glamourous. Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg after a day at the beach.

Which products have you used to create the look?
We used the Earl Grey Blow Dry Spray from Less is More throughout the hair then it was blow dried for exaggerated volume with the Dyson Pro hairdryer. To finish, we brushed the hair off the face for a loose worn in wave with lots of shine.

BY MALENE BIRGER SS19

CIM MAHONY:

What was the inspiration for the By Malene Birger look?
This season at Malene Birger took a super modern and cool turn with the new creative director, Mathilde Torp Mader at the helm. The look we worked out for the hair was angelic and ethereal in contrast to the subtle punk reference in the garments.

Which products have you used to create the look?
For this look, we have chosen to work with a very basic prep of Proteinspray from the organic haircare brand Less is More. Following on, we used the Mason Pearson brush on each girl for half an hour stimulating the scalp and transferring the oils from root to ends building up a slight static. This gave the hair a very light and airy flow down the catwalk. We used the Dyson Pro hair dryer with its amazing cooling setting to keep scalps cold in the extreme summer heat and to make the look stay flawless.

GANNI SS19

CIM MAHONY:

What was the inspiration for the Ganni look?
Ganni is never not flirting with Scandinavian beauty, so this season is no exception. Imagine a girl on a bicycle on the way home from a few days camping at the beach in the hot August heat. The hair is full of salt water, blown back by the wind with a greasy hairline from days of mixing sea, sand and sensuality.

Which products have you used to create the look?
We used Elderflower Salt Spray from Less is More organic hair care for a worn in look and the Dyson Pro hair dryer to give it this ‘wind-blown backswept bicycle look’. Just before the girls walk the catwalk, we hit the hairlines with the deliciously oily Lindengloss Finishing Spray, also from Less is More.

SAKS POTTS SS19

CIM MAHONY:

What was the inspiration for the Saks Potts look?
Saks Potts this season is inspired by the weird and wonderful world of Winter Olympics. We are working with tight ponytails and 80s hair tower accessories to give each individual the look of a world class skating princess. The spin is fun, loving and kitsch reflected in both the hair and the roller disco makeup flashes in the collection.

Which products have you used to create the look?
We worked with Mascobado Gel from Less is More organic hair care to stick down the tight pony’s. The hair was extended with hair pieces from Balmain Hair couture and we used the Mason Pearson SB3 to smooth the baby hairs to finish. All braids were sprayed down with Thyme Lacque from Less is More and sealed in with extreme heat from the Dyson Pro hair dryer.
